My Final Project and Assignments!

I was not anticipating that my work would get so busy at this time of the year when I registered for the class. All work projects were “urgent”, I have had most busy work hours for as long as I can remember at Thomson Reuters for nearly 9 years. I guess because of the economy situation, maybe every one was worried about their/our jobs…

And now that after class is done, I find myself at a much easy pace at work too! It seems always like this – things either happen altogether or nor at all – what can I say?!

I really liked class. It pulls things together for me. Its just like ‘mashup’, my favorite web technology. At least now I know what to read for myself if something I had missed in class because of my busy work lately.

I am posting below my final project as well as all my assignments. Client-side assignments were posted before and I probably will keep updating my final project in the near future.

It has been a great class and its my pleasure to know my intelligent fellow classmates especially Amos and I thank Amos again for putting all these knowledge together for us!

Final Project Idea(1st draft)

I am thinking building a website that incorporates widgets from other big sites like yahoo or google. If its manageable, I will try to include a free open source wiki system to manage some part of the content. Ideally, the content of my site could be a mashup to other sites using RSS or just make it a widget.

The content type of this site will be decided and all above mentioned may be altered before its finalized.

Thanks for reading!

Class8 in class post

Today's class is very interesting. The MVC approach learned today is an useful practice and it separates your business logic and back-end coding. I will try to follow this practice along the way working on my final project.

Because the busy schedule I have had for past 3 weeks, my assignment 6 and assignment 7 were not finished on time while other students presented very nice works. I probably will be less busy next week and will hand you my assignment 6,7 and 8 all together.

Assignment5 Correction!

I included the wrong JS file last week in my
assignment5. I corrected that and added a new rotation function for the top ad banner as well as some changes in my CSS file.
Please click on the image if you would like to check it out.

Thanks for looking and see you tomorrow.

Assignment 5 will have to be posted next week.

I have had a very busy week. I could not find time to do the assignment until now. And I am tired... I will post my assignment next week. It's bit frustrating. It's a very interesting assignment. I was planning to use my step-son's photos. To people who are reading this post (I doubt there many besides Mr.Bloomberg), here is a photo of my step-son. His name is Juzi (Chinese for Orange)
